About Quilt Art
We are an exhibiting group of 16 textile artists from Britain, Europe and the United States. The group was founded nearly 40 years ago and we regularly mount exhibitions that tour internationally. The current members come from seven countries: Britain, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Hungary, Denmark and the United States.
As individual artists, we frequently exhibit in international juried and curated textile and fibre art shows. Many of us have works in public and private collections and are well-known authors and teachers.
‘Layers and Narratives’, a new show for our 40th anniversary opened in Horst, the Netherlands in January 2025, see Exhibitions page for further information about its touring plans.
We strive to maintain our unique reputation for integrity of expression and quality of craftsmanship. Each of us has a distinctive approach and our work is diverse and dynamic and aims to challenge the accepted notion of the ‘quilt.’
Since we were founded in Britain in 1985, we have exhibited throughout Europe and also in the USA, Japan, Canada and Russia. Each exhibition is accompanied by a book which we write, illustrate and publish ourselves.
